Brief History of Chanel Sunglasses

One of the most highly sought after brand of designer sunglasses available is, without arguement, Chanel. In 1908, a woman by the name of Gabrielle 'Coco' Chanel (1883 - 1971) was unkown to the world and working as a hat designer. Six years later in 1914, she would open two fashion boutiques and start her brand, Chanel.

Like the many talented and legendary artists of her day (Picasso and Diaghilev to name a few) she strived to break the norm of society and change what people think of fashion. She quickly became a success, attracting the public with her stylish designs. In the following years she would create classics such as the quilted handbag, little black dress, and her famous line of perfumes.

With all of the old but still popular and new designs, the Chanel brand shows no signs of giving up their position in the fashion world. The popularity of Chanel is evident with their creative yet simple designs still dominating the designer sunglasses market.
